HOST ORGANIZATION

The iSee Taiwan Foundation was established by Sayling Wen in 2003. Ted Wen became the Chairman in 2008, and set the Foundation’s vision as “becoming an essential portal for the world to see Taiwan” in the three core realms of culture, tourism, and innovation. The dual missions of the iSee Taiwan Foundation are to successfully market Taiwan’s unique character and heritage globally and to make the world Taiwan’s service market. The Foundation focuses on exploring, integrating, and promoting the culture and friendly nature of people and places throughout Taiwan, with the goal of creating more opportunities for Taiwan’s service industry by steadily increasing the number of inbound visitors from abroad.

Demonstrate the Cultural Strength of Local Terroir Through Experience and Participation.

The iSee Taiwan Foundation exerts itself to acquainting the world with the beauty and value of Taiwan. Rallying around the gastronomic masters in the world, the Foundation hosts the 2022 iSee Gastronomy Forum, opening up illuminating dialogue and presenting exquisite experience to demonstrate the incredible value of Taiwan’s gastronomy.

The Forum unfolds with the German three-star Michelin chef Thomas Bühner and Chief Executive of the iSee Taiwan Foundation, together, the duo shed light on the topic of “Creating value through terroir”. Gilles Compañy, Executive Chef & Culinary Academic Director of Le Cordon Bleu Japan will share his practices. Chef Thomas Chien, winner of the Green Dining Guide Award, and Daniel Negreira, the Spanish chef who received multiple Michelin recommendation, are invited to make culinary exchanges to showcase the grace of Taiwanese terroir and gastronomy in the form of fine dining. A public event “iSee Gastronomy Stage” is added to the agenda this year, with Wu Chien Hao, chef of the beloved Taiwanese restaurant A Sha Restaurant to demonstrate the beauty of traditional Taiwanese cuisine and terroir.

Meanwhile, the Forum leverages technology, humanities, innovative design to formulate exquisite experience and interprets the cultural strength of terroir and calls on corporates to embrace the global trending topic on sustainability and its value.
